Countryside Partnerships South West are pleased to introduce proposals for our new development on the former Douglas works site at Village Road, Cheltenham. A full planning application has been submitted for the development of 71 affordable homes (100% of the site), landscaped public open space and upgrades to Village Road including a new pedestrian crossing.
While the COVID-19 restrictions have been eased, we recognise the continued risks posed. While we always favour face to face conversations, we want to help keep people safe and have therefore decided that an online consultation is best.
Once you have reviewed the information, we would be pleased to hear your feedback or answer any questions you might have using the dedicated online feedback form or email address provided.
We hope you find the information helpful and we look forward to hearing from you.
Village Road Cheltenham planning layout downloadThis land at Village Road is a redundant, brownfield site within Cheltenham Borough Council and is currently allocated for employment use. Countryside Partnerships will, subject to planning permission, deliver landscaped public open space, upgrades to Village Road including a new pedestrian crossing, and much needed affordable homes.
The site is well connected with good access to the local pedestrian, cycle and public transport network. These provide sustainable travel links to a relatively large number and range of local services and facilities, including the full range of education provision, medical centre, multiple supermarkets and the town centre.
A number of overarching objectives were established at the outset of the project and informed the masterplan:
