South Oxhey Central wins at the LABC Building Excellence Awards 2023

LABC Award winners

South Oxhey Central, our £218m mixed-use regeneration scheme in Hertfordshire, has been crowned the winner of the Best High Volume New Housing Development category at the LABC Building Excellence Awards 2023 for the Central region.

Held by the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) every year, the awards take into consideration not only the appearance of a property, but also levels of building regulations compliance, outstanding craftsmanship, technical innovation, sustainability and high performance.

The Best High Volume New Housing Development category celebrates new housing developments of more than 30 units built for private sale or rent, and so we are proud that the transformation of South Oxhey Central has been recognised, with the existing South Oxhey town centre and three unused sites turned into a modern and vibrant hub for residents and businesses.

In partnership with Home Group and Three Rivers District Council, and designed by HAP Architects, we are delivering 659 new homes and 55,000 sq. ft. of retail and commercial space at South Oxhey Central, including a 18,500 sq. ft. Lidl food store and a revamped retail experience at Carpenders Park railway station. Set amongst two acres of landscaped parks and public spaces, a high-quality neighbourhood with a strong sense of place and community identity has been created, attractive for living, working and recreation.

This award win is testament to the hard work of our team and reflects the positive impact that South Oxhey Central’s high-quality design and innovation has had on the local community. As a regional winner, South Oxhey Central will now go forward to compete with other best-in-class developments from across the country at the LABC Awards Grand Finals on 19 January 2024.
