Essex is Top of the Class for New Homes

With each new school year, it is becoming increasingly competitive for parents to secure their child’s top school choice. One in four families have moved house specifically to secure an address within their desired school catchment area, according to new research by Santander Mortgages.

Award winning homebuilder Countryside, currently has new homes available across Essex, all of which are perfectly placed for families looking to benefit from excellent school options within the local area, without having to comprise on their home.

Countryside is currently creating a number of family friendly developments in Chelmsford, with a wide range of homes at its flagship development Beaulieu (a joint venture with L&Q), Little Hollows near the village of Chignal Smealy, and the forthcoming Hanbury Place in Broomfield, which is due to launch in early  2018. For education, Chelmsford is home to some of the top rate grammar schools in the country. Within close proximity of all the developments, King Edward VI Grammar School achieves impressive results with 99% of pupils achieving grades A*-C in the recent GCSE results and Chelmsford County High School for Girls receiving a 96% pass rate. Furthermore, Countryside at Chesterwell, Colchester’s newest community, is within easy reach of Colchester County High School for Girls, which saw 100% of pupils receive grades A*-C at GCSE this year.

In addition to new homes, Countryside is creating state of the art new schools and facilities at many of their developments in the county. Beaulieu will benefit from a brand new primary and secondary school, the first of which is due to open in 2018 plus a further primary school in later years, whilst the independent New Hall School occupies the former palace of the Beaulieu Estate at the very heart of the development. St Luke’s Park in Runwell is set to benefit from a proposed new primary school and Chesterwell in Colchester is also set to have a new primary and secondary school, following a successful joint bid by The Gilberd School, Colchester County High School for Girls and Manningtree High School.

Chris Bladon, Managing Director of Countryside’s New Homes and Communities Eastern Region comments: “The location of good local schools is an essential factor for parents when buying a home. As a county, Essex is renowned for its fantastic education standards and first-class schooling options. Families looking for a new home in an excellent location, within close proximity to high-performing existing or proposed new schools will find an unrivalled selection at our developments throughout Essex.”
