Countryside Volunteers spend the day painting Local Boxing Club in Doncaster

Hexthorpe Volunteers

Volunteers from Countryside, the UK’s leading mixed- tenure developer, spent the day painting a local boxing club in Hexthorpe, Doncaster.

Countryside has a longstanding relationship with Doncaster Plant Works Amateur Boxing Club, having recently provided sponsorship alongside partners, Sage Housing and Sigma Capital Group. Countryside continued its association with the club by providing five employees to volunteer to paint the boxing club, transforming the space for its members.

The volunteers spent the entire day there and managed to paint all of the walls in the main gym space, as well as all of the pipes. The paint was supplied by Magill’s Painting and Decorating Contractors LTD, with the other materials supplied by Countryside.

Countryside has been working in the area on its major development scheme, Pullman Green, and are keen to engage with the local community and understand the most important needs of the area. The boxing club is at the heart of the community and both the sponsorship and painting will be hugely beneficial for the club, which is used by people of all ages.

Chris Penn, Managing Director, Yorkshire, Countryside, commented:

“It is great to see our employees taking time to volunteer with local establishments to foster and give back to the communities. At Countryside, we encourage each other to make use of our charity days to volunteer at local charities and organisations, as we believe in building communities, not just houses. I have long been aware of the kind-hearted nature of my Yorkshire team, gestures such as this only reaffirm that perception There is no doubt that the work of our volunteers will have a huge impact to the local boxing club.”
