Countryside teams volunteer at Broomfield Hospital in Essex as part of our 60 Days of Charity initiative

Two teams from Countryside helped transform the outdoor furniture and fencing at Broomfield Hospital for the children’s ward.

They used bright paint colours to make the outdoor area more attractive for the children to play in.   The hospital was planning to repaint the furniture in a brighter colour and thanks to the Countryside volunteers, the hospital funds that would have been used to repaint the furniture will now be put towards caring for patients at Broomfield.

A spokesperson for Broomfield Hospital comments, "Please can you pass our thanks to all of your wonderful volunteers who have helped over the last two days. It is a great help to have volunteers in to paint our outdoor areas as it allows us to use the money we would have spent on painting on patient care and other projects to enhance patient stay"

As Countryside celebrates our 60th anniversary, colleagues are donating 60 days of their time to charities in the communities where they work.

Broomfield Hospital provides a comprehensive range of acute and community-based services, including care for children and young people. The hospital has a children's medical and surgical ward, caring for children who are admitted as an emergency or who require an overnight stay in hospital, as well as a children’s outpatients service.

We are always looking for ways to give back to the communities in which we operate. Our 60 Days of Charity initiative is an opportunity for us volunteer at local organisations and offer practical support that really makes a difference.
