Countryside Partnerships South East Midlands Wins Residential Project of the Year in Constructing Excellence Awards 2023

Countryside Partnerships South East Midlands has been awarded the prestigious title of Residential Project of the Year in the Constructing Excellence Awards. The industry recognised the outstanding achievements of Countryside's partnership with Inspire Villages on the Elderswell Village project.
Elderswell Village, located in Turvey, is a state-of-the-art supported living village specifically designed to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for individuals over 65. Developed by Countryside Partnerships for Inspired Villages, this remarkable £35.7 million project features 128 age-appropriate homes, including 42 one-bedroom apartments, 84 two-bedroom apartments, and 2 three-bedroom apartments.
What makes this project truly exceptional is its commitment to environmental stewardship. From the initial design phase to the construction process, Elderswell Village incorporated sustainable practices. Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) were employed to reduce CO2 emissions and waste. The development boasts environmentally friendly features such as a ground source heat pump, PV panels, LED lighting, EV charging points, and FSC timber. In addition, the project actively protects existing wildlife and preserves natural features while creating enhanced green spaces for residents. The ecological enhancements include artificial bat roosting, bird nesting, and hibernacula for reptiles and hedgehogs, fostering a welcoming environment for wildlife.
Not only has Elderswell Village had a positive impact on the environment, but it has also made significant contributions to the local economy. Throughout the three-year construction program, the project generated approximately 50 jobs per year, and upon completion, an additional 25 operational jobs were created.
This achievement would not have been possible without the exceptional teamwork and collaboration demonstrated by all parties involved. The project team proactively engaged with the local community from the start, organising events, providing regular updates, and addressing any concerns. They also partnered with various agencies to ensure each property was finished to the highest standard, catering to the diverse needs of the residents.
Completion of the Elderswell Village project was achieved on time, within budget, and without compromising health and safety standards. The project prioritised local employment, creating opportunities for subcontractors and apprentices within a 15-mile radius of the location.
