Countryside announces sponsorship of Cambridge rugby team, Cantabs RUFC
Award-winning developer, Countryside, is proud to announce its sponsorship of Cantabrigian Rugby Club in Cambridge.
Now the main Club sponsor, Countryside’s donation of £20,000 has enabled key improvements to the Club and its training facilities, including new lighting for the main pitch, as well as new Club branding and much-needed upgrades to signage in and around the grounds.
The sponsorship will also support the Club’s growth plans, with a portion of the money contributing to further developing the recently-created junior structure. In addition, as the main playing kit sponsor, the team’s new branded sports kits now bear the Countryside logo.
Cantabrigian RUFC, affectionately known as the ‘Cantabs’, is the home of amateur rugby in Cambridge. With three adult teams playing in the London and Eastern Counties leagues, the team has been an integral part of the city’s rugby scene since 1946.
Glen Remnant, Head Coach at Cantabs RUFC, comments: “Countryside’s support in helping us realise our ambitions for the Club has been fantastic. The improvements to our facilities means we will soon have some of the best training lights in the area. The sponsorship is hugely appreciated by every member of the Cantabs team - we’re very proud to wear the Countryside name on our chests and look forward to growing the Club together in years to come.”
Laurence Jones, Chairman at Cantabs RUFC, also adds: “I would like to extend my thanks to Countryside for their support this year. The additional investment into the Club has already made a huge difference in the quality of rugby we are able to offer. Countryside has enabled the Cantabs and rugby in Cambridge to grow substantially.”
David Everett, Managing Director for Housebuilding (Central), Countryside comments: “We are delighted to be the main sponsor at Cantabs. The club plays a key role in the Cambridge community and we are proud to support the team with its new training ground lighting, as well as new signage and branding. We look forward to seeing the results of the upcoming works and cheering the team on this season.”
