Supply Chain

Our supply chain partners are critical in helping us to create Places People Love. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to build our homes at the same pace or to the same high-quality standards our customers have come to expect.

We also need to draw on our supply chain’s expertise and knowledge as we move towards more modern methods of construction and higher sustainable construction requirements, like low carbon homes and net biodiversity gain. Throughout a project, we engage with our partners in a variety of ways, including project meetings, surveys and on-site training opportunities.

What we expect from our partners

We want to work with supply chain partners that share our values. At a minimum, we expect our supply chain partners to adhere to the standards set out in our policies as well as the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code standards. All new supply chain partners participate in a pre-qualification process prior to being able to engage in any tendering process.

What our partners can expect from us

We are committed to providing supply chain partners working on our sites with a safe, healthy and respectful environment. Our system is certified to the international occupational health and safety management standard ISO 45001. In 2021, our annual injury incidence rate (“AIIR”) was 163, which was 56% better than the national average of 372

We look for opportunities to support our supply chain partners to increase their capacity and skills in different areas. We are a partner of the Supply Chain Sustainability School. Through the school, we can now offer our supply chain partners access to free courses and e-learning in 17 critical areas of sustainable construction, including carbon, biodiversity, off-site construction, sustainable procurement, modern slavery, BIM, wellbeing, fairness, inclusion and respect to name just a few. This is part of our new approach to sustainability, and we are committed to ensuring that our employees and supply chain partners have the right skills and knowledge to meet the environmental and social challenges ahead.
