Vistry Partnerships has secured a £33 contract with Central Bedfordshire Council to build an independent living development in Houghton Regis. The development will include 168 one and two-bedroomed apartments, as well as community space, a restaurant, retail opportunities and care and re-ablement facilities.

Once complete the development will be managed by the council, reflecting its priority to invest in care and accommodation to meet the needs of older residents.

  • Secured following competitive tender, issued through Homes England’s Delivery Partner Panel (DPP3) framework.
  • Design and phased construction of 168 apartment independent living scheme, including. communal areas, retail space and two re-ablement suites.
  • Works also include the extension of the adjacent Red House building (Grade II listed) and demolition of Red House Court, a neighbouring sheltered housing scheme. Residents here will move into the new completed building during phase 2.
