New home warranty and insurance

When you purchase your new Countryside home, you can be confident it has been built to the highest of standards, but to give you added reassurance all homes come with a new home 10-year warranty and insurance.

Exacting standards from the start

All our homes are built to National House-Building Council (NHBC) standards - the technical benchmark for newly-built homes. The standards define the technical requirements and performance for every element of the building process, from foundations through to decoration.

NHBC is the UK's leading standard-setting body and provider of warranty and insurance policy for new homes. They work with the house-building industry to raise the standards of new homes and to provide consumer protection for homebuyers. To find out more visit Technical Standards on the NHBC website.

The 10-year NHBC Buildmark policy

The Buildmark policy is made up of three parts.

  1. Deposit protection from exchange of contracts.
  2. For the first 2 years of owning your new home you have the benefit of a Builder Warranty, during this time should a defect occur to your new home caused by faulty workmanship or materials Countryside will aim to put it right.
  3. From year 3 to 10 the NHBC Buildmark insurance cover is applied. The policy documents given to customers relating to their home provides full and specific details of the insurance policy.

A handy quick introduction to the NHBC Buildmark brochure is available to review or alternatively further information on the terms and exclusions of the cover can be found on the What Does Buildmark Cover? section on the NHBC website.

Selling your home

Your warranty and insurance provider

Whilst the majority of our homes come with an NHBC Buildmark policy, on some developments we have alternative providers with similar cover instead. The warranties are similar in nature and provide a cover that runs for a 10-year period against major structural damage to your home.
