It was 2019 when young finance manager and bar/restaurant owner, Michael Katasi and his partner Nejla Kayserili bought their first home.

Being a busy business manager and a London city worker it was important for the couple to have an easy to access location, with great local amenities and excellent links into London. Over 3 years have now passed and with a new little addition to the family, the couple are still delighted with their choice.

“We looked within Enfield Town and Southgate aswell, but the links to London weren’t as good and there wasn’t as many things to do. Plus, the property is beautiful, we absolutely love it. We’re living in a 3-bed that’s also got a big balcony so we’ve got tons of space and our master bedroom benefits from loads of natural light, which makes it feel even more spacious. Life has definitely improved for us and we’ve been fortunate enough to start our own little family,” said Michael.

For Michael and Nejla, it wasn’t just the beautiful property and spacious apartment that sold them on their Countryside home. The location was the overarching factor in their purchase decision. New Avenue is situated right between Southgate and Oakwood stations, making it great for travel connections, particularly in and out of London. Oakwood can be accessed by the Piccadilly line, with services to King’s Cross in 24 minutes and London Liverpool Street in 38 minutes.

“It was the location that originally sold us. We are only about 15 minutes away from both of our parents. We’re kind of in the middle of everything we need!” Michael explained.

New Avenue is situated just 5 minutes’ drive from Cockfosters and 10 minutes’ drive from the centre of Southgate, meaning it benefits from a whole range of local amenities.

“I enjoy being able to get anything I want at whatever time I want!” Stated Michael. “It’s very well positioned within the community; you’ve got Oakwood on one side and then there’s Cockfosters with loads of different restaurants there. We’re just a short walk away from the High Street too.”

New Avenue at Oakwood is not only situated with major high-street brands, useful grocery stores and independent shops, it also benefits from a host of exciting entertainment venues.

“We would definitely recommend Enfield to someone looking to relocate. I’ve lived here for most of my life and there’s plenty to do. We’re big foodies you see, so if it’s food you’re interested in The Cock & Dragon in Barnet do a really nice roast, DESERIE also in Barnet, for delicious Greek food and we’re massive sushi fans. There’s a new restaurant that opened up recently in Cockfosters called Kiyoto… then you’ve got La Paella in Southgate for tapas - the choice is yours really!”

The community feeling is another key selling point for New Avenue. “People are chatty and don’t really keep to themselves too much, which is nice,” Michael explained.

Aside from the great location and abundance of local amenities, New Avenue also benefits from a host of green spaces nearby. Michael explained, “we’ve got a few nice parks nearby. There’s Oakhill Park, Groveland’s Park and Trent Park which is only 7 minutes’ drive away. Trent Park is a really nice area, we try and go to it quite a bit which is nice, especially with the little one. They have all sorts of activities; they’ve got horseback riding and even Go Ape which is fun.”

The newest phase at New Avenue has just recently launched, and features a collection of beautiful one, two & three bedroom apartments and two & three bedroom maisonettes.
