Yorkshire: A Place We Love

Yorkshire homes exterior

It’s been three years since we first launched Countryside in Yorkshire and what an incredible journey it’s been.

So much has happened in a short space of time and here are just some of the highlights:

  • Ten new developments
  • 1,891 new homes
  • Hundreds of new jobs created

Increased demand

We knew what we had to offer was unique and we were quietly confident that we would be a welcome addition to Yorkshire’s property market, but we had no idea that our developments would be quite as popular as they have been.

Five star homes and a phenomenal location are always a winning combination, but ever since lockdown more and more people have been moving to the Yorkshire countryside to take advantage of its affordable house prices and green open spaces.

With the cost of living increasing and a greater awareness of the energy savings that can be made in new build homes, this is a trend that looks set to continue.

Communities Coming Together

City Fields in Wakefield was the first development that we launched in the region and we received the warmest of welcomes from the very beginning. A total of 172 will be built there and with the final homes coming soon, the carefully planned street scenes we pride ourselves on have really taken shape and it’s fantastic to see that a new close-knit community has come to life there.

Each development is full of firsts and Manor Woods in Kirkbymoorside, which will comprise 225 homes, was the first Countryside Partnerships site in the whole of the North of England to sell bungalows.

An Exciting Future

The showhomes have just opened at our first North East development, Siskin Park in Wynyard, which will feature 186 homes and Bella Wood View in Goldthorpe, our first South Yorkshire development will see 116 homes built.

But there’s more and next in line is our BIGGEST Yorkshire development yet. Coming soon to Hexthorpe is Pullman Green and the grand total of 671 brand new homes.

A Promise

When we first moved here, Chris Penn (Managing Director, partnerships Yorkshire) made the following promise to Yorkshire on behalf of Countryside:

“Countryside has a very proud heritage in creating brand new developments that are built around quality, affordability and a commitment to invest in communities. Our business is focused on creating places people love and this ethos is about much more than building houses.”

This is something we wholeheartedly believe in and made a priority from day one.

In 2020, a £50k community fund donation was shared amongst 12 Yorkshire organisations and we have made it a priority to get to know local people and their needs ever since.

From hosting health and safety assemblies, to painting a boxing club - and planting everything from plum trees to sunflower seeds, we are deeply embedded in the local communities and here to help them thrive.

Yorkshire is without a doubt a place we love and we look forward to everything the future has to hold here.
