Yorkshire: A Place People Love

Bella Wood View homeowners, Lauren and Jordan

If you’re wondering what kind of a place Yorkshire is like to live in, the locals will tell you everything you need to know. As luck would have it, some of our favourite residents are here to explain what it is they love about Yorkshire.

Community life

Lauren, Jordan and their son Max were amongst the first five families to move into their new home at Bella Wood View in Goldthorpe.

The couple, who had previously been renting locally, wanted Max to grow up in a tight-knit community - with close friends nearby - and that’s exactly what they found in this South Yorkshire development.

Their next door neighbours have a daughter a similar age to Max and the two families quickly became close friends. “Knowing that Max will grow up surrounded by friends is a real comfort to us”, said Lauren.

“This will be our home for a long time and we love that Max has already made a buddy next door. There is a whole community here to support us and Max has plenty of space to run wild. He loves it.”

Idyllic location

City fields lockdown buyer Sian

Sian, a Station Commander in the Yorkshire Fire Service, reserved her new four bedroom home at City Fields in Wakefield during lockdown.

When Sian discovered she needed to relocate for work, the mother of two and on-call fire officer found herself tasked with finding a property within her coverage patch but also large enough for family life.

She comments: “The location of City Fields is absolutely stunning, it really is a beautiful place. I do trail running and ultra marathons so it’s the perfect location for getting outdoors. Everyone I show images of my new house to says ‘wow’ and wants to know who the developer was. Beautiful houses in a lovely place!”

Affordable style

Rob and Elliot

Project Manager Elliot and his partner Rob, who works as a Store Manager, turned to social media after the property they were initially buying in Yorkshire fell through.

They came across a post on our Instagram feed - featuring a stunning three bedroom, semi-detached Lea, at City Fields in Wakefield - and after getting in touch straight away to make an appointment, they discovered more than they’d hoped for in a first home.

“When we stepped foot in The Lea showhome, we knew immediately it was the one. All of a sudden everything just fell into place. The house is so open, spacious and full of character - we love it!” Elliot commented.

Rob added: “We’d seen what was included with other builders and were totally shocked to discover what Countryside offers as standard! We had already budgeted thousands of pounds for these extra items, so we were extremely pleased to say the least, that our home would be ready to move into without having to buy all the extras!”

A place to call home

First time buyers Jennifer and Ashley moved across the Atlantic with their son Luca to live at our Manor Woods development in Kirkbymoorside.

After a four-year stint in Tampa, Florida - and with another baby on the way - the family were keen to relocate to North Yorkshire and had their hearts set on Ashley’s hometown of Kirkbymoorside.

Despite the distance and lockdown restrictions in place at the time, they were able to reserve their three-bedroom, detached home virtually from Florida via email, phone and skype.

Jennifer commented: “Being in the US, not to mention being in lockdown, we thought buying a home overseas would be impossible. We were so wrong! The virtual process was faultless and the experience from start to finish absolutely impeccable. We reserved the family home we’ve always wanted in the UK."
