“We will seek to help in any way, shape or form”, says mortgage advisor Scott Howitt
The UK mortgage market is fast moving and it can be difficult to navigate changes, especially in the current climate. Part of the challenge for buyers today is understanding what the changes really mean for them, but that’s where our experts come in.
Scott Howitt at Chartwell Mortgage Services has been in the business for 27 years and he believes there are some clear signs of encouragement to look out for from mortgage lenders.
Here’s what he has to say:
“What’s interesting with lenders is they’re all seeking out innovation. We’ve got more lenders in the market. We’ve got more product in the market. We’re doing things, which in my 27 years, makes me sit up and say ‘I’ve not seen that before’.
“With the end in sight for Help to Buy, we’re seeing innovation in new schemes - not to replace it directly, but they’re emerging and any innovation like that is very encouraging.”

“Lenders want to help and the product selection available to buyers at the moment is probably bigger than it’s ever been in the past.” Scott continues.
Help when you need it

Never close the door
As Scott says: “We deal with all sorts of complex cases and what the customer may perceive as their circumstances being complex, might actually not be.
“We give advice to people. That’s what we’re all about. We will help the customer in any way shape or form.”
The most rewarding part of the job for all of us involved in the process, is handing over the keys and knowing how much it means to our buyers.
