Watermark shortlisted at the British Homes Awards 2022

British Homes Awards

Watermark, our £94m regeneration scheme in partnership with the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, has been shortlisted at this year's British Homes Awards in the Mixed-use Development of the Year category.

These prestigious awards recognise excellence and innovation in the British housebuilding industry, focusing on architectural design, interior design, build quality and innovation showcased by one-off houses through to major developments.

Watermark has been shortlisted in the ‘Mixed-use Development of the Year’ category on account of Countryside’s transformation of the site of a former council car park alongside York Stream into a thriving mixed-use community. A stunning collection of one, two and three-bedroom apartments is being delivered alongside new retailers and an attractive public square, bringing fresh life to that area of Maidenhead town centre.

The new public plaza was opened by Theresa May MP in May 2022, with the retail spaces under the arches of the development - award-winning brewer ‘A Hoppy Place’, wine, tapas and e-sports bar ‘Masters’, pizza restaurant ‘Kneed Neapolitan Pizza’ and health and fitness club ‘Anytime Fitness’ - fully let and open to the public, creating a lively waterfront lifestyle overlooking York Stream that embellishes Maidenhead’s existing eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and pubs.

As a leading UK mixed-tenure developer, this shortlisting success is testament to the hard work of our team, not only reflecting the high-quality design and innovation of our schemes but our dedication to creating places people love. We look forward to the awards ceremony at The Londoner Hotel on Friday 30th September, when the winners will be announced.
