Instagram trends - Garden kitchen

We’ve all been yearning for some sun-soaked evenings to sit and relax in the garden and Instagram has been serving up some amazing inspiration to transform your garden gatherings. Whether you’re looking for rustic charm or a sleek high-end finish, read on to see what’s hot right now.

More Than Just a BBQ

More than just a bbq

Step aside humble hamburger! Cooking outdoors is an international trend that is taking off in a big way in the UK. Our love for BBQs is going nowhere but we’re also getting a bit more adventurous when it comes to outdoor dining. Smoke pits and pizza ovens are popular additions to the outdoor kitchen and add variety to our alfresco menus.

Add a Bar

Hannah & Conleth Garden bar

Become a master bartender with your very own local. If you’re a moderate DIYer (or know one) a very simple outdoor bar can be created with some timber, decking boards, a lick of paint and a bit of creative flare. Some vintage signage and a few optics add a perfect finishing touch. We love this garden bar from our buyers @thesommersbystamford.

Grow Your Own

Grow your own herb garden

There’s something very rewarding about growing your own food. If like us, you’re keen to embrace a more sustainable way of life, home-grown produce is a must in your outdoor kitchen. A lot of herbs and fruit trees grow perfectly either planted out or in pots. You can also make your own raised beds by creating a simple timber frame and lining the base with organic material such as grass, leaves and wood chippings. Just be sure to pop some cardboard in the base underneath your compost to prevent weeds. Right now is the best time of year to make a start so get outside and get growing!
