Rainham's new leisure centre to boost local health facilities

A new leisure centre is set to open next year in Rainham, only a short distance from Beam Park, offering a new health and wellbeing facility for residents in addition to those being delivered at Beam Park.
Located on Viking Way in Rainham, Rainham Leisure Centre is currently under construction and remains on target to open to the public in June 2023. Having begun construction in January 2022, the leisure centre now has its steel frame and concrete surface screeding in place, while the roof is almost complete and much of the external brickwork well on the way, offering visible signs of progress.
This new centre is being built using a modern design structure and will include a range of facilities such as a six-lane swimming pool, dance and spinning studio and a 72-station fitness suite.
However, this is not the only fitness amenity that will be available to Beam Park residents, with a number of on-site leisure facilities planned or already under construction by Countryside and L&Q at the development. Located in Phase 2 of the development and currently under construction is a brand-new leisure centre, situated next to Central Park West, while currently under construction in The Square is a new medical centre, in addition to the new shops and community facilities on resident’s doorsteps.
Residents at Beam Park are spoilt for choice when it comes to green spaces, with award-winning parks, rivers and nature reserves in walking distance. A stone’s throw from the development is Beam Parklands Country Park, Dagenham’s newest green space offering. Beam Parklands is a 53-hectare section of the floodplain of the River Beam (the river itself runs through the development), which has been transformed into a multi-award-winning wetland park.
Beam Park residents don’t even have to go that far however, with 44% of the development allocated for publicly accessible green space, which includes a 3.5-hectare central park in the heart of the development with the River Beam running through it, meaning that prioritising health and fitness is as easy as possible.
