Making the seaside dream an affordable reality
As UK seaside property prices soar, and homebuyers search for more affordable seaside locations, five-star housebuilder Countryside has reported high demand for its first development close to a popular northern coastal area.
Located in the village of Warton, a 10 minute drive from the seaside town of Lytham St Anne’s, the site was amongst the top 10 most searched developments last month, across all of Countryside’s sites in the North.
A quarter of people in a recent Countryside survey revealed that their dream home would be by the sea and with starting prices much lower than many of the national seaside property hotspots, Beaumont Green is attracting buyers looking to make the seaside dream a reality.
Rightmove recently listed the UK’s top coastal property hotspots and this revealed that areas on the southern coast of England have seen asking prices rise more than any other seaside area during the past year, with an average price tag of £1.2m. Property prices in the top 10 areas have risen by up to 24% in the past year whereas Warton presents a more affordable seaside option as property prices in the area have increased at a slower rate of 6%.
Work at Beaumont Green began at the start of the year and the development has already attracted interest from local homebuyers as well as those further afield thanks to its highly commutable location and proximity to the nearby seaside town of Lytham St Anne’s.
Mark Hadfield, Managing Director, Merseyside and Cheshire West, Countryside, said: “Since people have had greater flexibility to work from home, we have received more enquiries from people looking to relocate to seaside and coastal towns. Beaumont Green is our closest development to the coast of any of our sites in the North and as asking prices for beach-based properties are rising, homebuyers are searching for affordable options. The development is only a short drive from the highly sought-after coastal town of Lytham St Anne’s, and walking distance to the nearby village of Freckleton, making it ideal for those also looking for access to green, open space.”
The housing development will feature a range of two, three and four bedroom detached and semi-detached homes, two hectares of public open space and a playground.
