Inspiration behind The Oakham showhome at Rivers Edge

Rebecca Charles of Killer5 Interior Design Studios spoke to us recently about the inspiration behind the beautiful showhomes at our Rivers Edge development in Warrington. In our first installment, we looked around The New Calder, which has a ‘cool, hip vibe’ and now it’s time to show you The Oakham.

Built for family life

Rebecca explains: “The second showhome is a four bedroom detached house built for a family. This home features an open-plan kitchen and dining area and a spacious living room with a feature bay window. The master bedroom boasts a large bay window and luxury en-suite, with three further well-proportioned bedrooms. 

“When it comes to the decor for The Oakham, we planned this with an opulent and sophisticated style in mind. It has a luxury feel and the primary colour palette is cream and gold, with a deep aubergine splash to create a rich contrast. We’ve focused on adding lighting and accessories in the living room to complement the decor. 

A space for adults

“Bedroom one’s style is classic and contemporary and it has a wood dressing table by the bay window. For bedroom two, designed as a guest bedroom, we’ve chosen dark wood to provide variety and emanate this opulent feel. 

A space for the big kids

“Bedroom three has been designed to suit an older child’s room; perhaps to be used periodically when he or she returns home during university years. The feature wallpaper really stands out in the room and we went for a periodic table artwork design, which creates an industrial feel.

A space for everyone

“And last, but not least, bedroom four has a study area and a daybed to illustrate its dual use, which will work for many families who need that working from home office space”.
