Driving from their home of 35 years in the Trafford suburb of Sale, to their daughter’s home in Partington, they soon began to notice how the area had transformed, after years of redevelopment.
They had no plans to move and yet they’re now living just down the road from their daughter at our Millbank Lock development.
A series of events
Carolyn comments: “We got to know the area of Partington better when visiting our daughter and even though we were settled in our home in Sale, we saw how much Partington and the surrounding areas have developed and loved the beautiful canal and countryside landscapes.
“A family member told us that Countryside was building nearby, so we came to have a look and fell in love with the development and the homes straight away.”
Leading up to the big day
“When we came to look round Millbank Lock, the build was in the very early stages and there were no showhomes to see at the time. Instead, we watched a tour of The Blyth online and could instantly appreciate how the home would work for us.
“We then visited Countryside’s Hall Park in Worksop to have a look round the house and knew immediately it was right for us. After selling our home in four days, we reserved our new home straight away. We managed to complete the whole process within three months which was fantastic.”
The end result
“We love how modern and clean the house is. Every morning we wake up and feel so happy that we live here.
“It's totally different to our old house (which had been a new build when we bought it many moons ago) and we can really see how much the standard of new builds has come on since we bought our previous home.
“Our old home was becoming more and more expensive to run and required upgrades such as double glazing and extra insulation to improve the efficiency, but the new house is always warm and so economical to run.”
The icing on the cake
“We don’t need to do much decorating as we love the really clean, modern look. It's truly timeless. But, we have had the garden landscaped which we are thrilled with - we've had block paving patio put down, retaining some of the lawn and introduced sleepers around the garden boundary with electric lights.
“We've also had a shed put in for extra storage and upgraded our garden furniture. Ian loves gardening so it will be such a great space for us and our family to enjoy as the weather gets warmer.
“We can't speak highly enough about everything, there's just not a single fault with it at all.”
