Hands on experience for pupils at Cressing Primary School, during their visit to The Paddocks in Tye Green

On 16th November, we invited 26 pupils from neighbouring school, Cressing Primary School, to The Paddocks, our exciting new development in Tye Green, Essex. The visit consisted of going behind the scenes at our latest site, to gain valuable insights and learn more about the construction industry.
The morning was led by the Countryside construction team, who demonstrated the art and skill of bricklaying, before allowing each child to contribute to building a wall of their own. The construction team also taught the children the principles and importance of health and safety on a building site, highlighting the associated risks, alongside providing the unique opportunity to see a construction digger up close.
The event concluded with the children burying their very own time capsule, which included personal handwritten letters and pictures, to be dug up again in 50 years time. At Countryside, we understand the importance of working with local schools which is why we have invested time to share our knowledge with the future generation.
Chris Moulton, Year 4 Teacher at Cressing Primary School
'We all thoroughly enjoyed our site visit to The Paddocks last week. The children had a brilliant time and it was such a unique experience for them to learn about the protocols on a building site. They particularly loved taking part in the brick laying activity and Countryside were fantastic, ensuring each child was involved. The morning came to a great end burying the time capsule, which contained insights on the pupil’s lives and 2021.'
We look forward to working closely with and involving the wider community in the coming months, as we continue with our commitment to creating places people love.
