Growing family find their dream home at St Luke’s Park
After the birth of their second daughter, Taylor and Emma decided it was time to move out of their two-bedroom home in South Woodham Ferrers in Essex, and find a new home for their growing family.

Discovering St Luke’s Park by chance whilst driving past, the couple fell in love with the parkland development in Runwell, Essex and its family friendly surroundings.

Taylor says: ‘We’d just had a baby so, with two little girls, our two-bedroom home which we’d had for four years was beginning to feel cramped. We needed to move to a three or four- bedroom house ideally. As I work in construction, I’d always hoped to build my own house, so we’d never considered or looked into buying a new build home, but we were taken in by the idyllic location and impressive quality of the homes here. ’

Proving popular with families, St Luke’s Park features the recently opened St Luke’s Primary School. Spanning over 200 acres, homes here are surrounded by open green space, with 8,000 new trees and shrubs. Offering residents a unique rural oasis, Taylor was drawn to the development’s picturesque surroundings and thoughtful layout and decided to schedule a visit with Emma.

He adds: ‘It felt like a private estate, I hadn’t seen anything else like it on the market. It was very peaceful and out of the way of the hustle and bustle of neighbouring towns and it had a family friendly feel to it. We also found that the houses here were well positioned – often at new build developments, houses can be built so close together, but here every home has its own space and outlook.’

Despite its idyllic position, St Luke’s Park boasts excellent transport links, with close proximity to the A13 which links to Central London, and Chelmsford can be reached in 15 minutes via the A130. The A132 provides a direct route to Wickford, just 2.5 miles away and Rayleigh is 6 miles away. There are direct services from Wickford and Rayleigh to London Liverpool Street in 40 minutes and Southend Airport in just 16 minutes. For those who do not drive, a shuttle bus service runs through St Luke’s Park to Wickford station.

Impressed by the location, and the design of the homes, Taylor and Emma ended up opting for a Spruce, a stylish four-bedroom, detached house type.

Taylor says: ‘We were very impressed by the specification. It is clear a lot of pride and care has been taken in the design of these homes, from thoughtful detailing down to the granite worktops.’

He continues: ‘A huge selling point for us was the separated spaces. With young children, it’s nice to have the living room divided from the kitchen/diner especially if either of us want some peace and quiet! We also have a lovely private garden, which will be perfect when the weather gets a bit warmer, plus we now have more bedrooms and en suites to accommodate our growing family - it’s just what we needed.’

When it came to their customer service experience, Taylor and Emma had nothing but wonderful things to say about their experience with Countryside.

Taylor continues: “The Sales team were lovely – they made the buying process a really enjoyable experience and significantly contributed to the positive feeling we got when we were looking around the development.”
