After hearing about Greenwich Millennium Village (GMV) from a friend, Arslan enquired about the available homes and ended up purchasing a one-bedroom apartment.

Arslan says: ‘I’ve always wanted to own my own home, and when I started looking into it I worked out that, even with increased interest rates, I would still be paying less for a mortgage than the rent I was paying. A friend of mine used to rent in one of the residential buildings at Greenwich Millennium Village and I thought it would be a lovely neighbourhood to live in.’

Offering village living in the heart of the city, Arslan was impressed by the abundance of greenspace on the doorstep, alongside the wealth of amenities. What’s more, residents at GMV benefit from first class facilities, including a convenience store, hairdressers, beauty spa, pharmacy, a dry cleaner, a Co-op and even a yacht club, with the latest phases also set to incorporate a nursery, café and community centre.

Arslan adds: ‘I love and know the area already as I have friends here and I play tennis in Greenwich. I thought it would be nice to live near the river and it’s such a unique location with the Ecology Park and all the green space around, whilst also having all the amenities and being so close to the city.’

Offering excellent transport connections, residents at GMV are less than a mile from North Greenwich tube station, making Canary Wharf, Stratford and London Bridge all easily accessible.

Arslan continues: ‘I work in Canary Wharf so the location is perfect for me – I’m one stop away from Canary Wharf on the Jubilee Line and, as I work in banking, I often work long hours so it’s a quick and easy commute.’

Set on buying a new build home, after looking at plans and apartment options at The Observatory, one of the latest phases at GMV, Arslan ended up purchasing a one-bedroom apartment on one of the upper floors of the building.

Arslan says: ‘I wanted a fresh start and to be able to add my own style to my home. I was impressed by the high-quality of the build and the spacious rooms – my bathroom has a bathtub and there’s proper corridor access into my apartment which I hadn’t seen at any of the apartments I viewed at other developments. My home has a fantastic view and I also have access to the communal terrace which is just down the corridor from my apartment.’

Carefully designed to take advantage of the building’s location, the light and spacious homes boast stylish interiors. Alongside a superior specification, homes benefit from flexible, open-plan layouts, stone worktops with fully integrated appliances, innovatively designed storage spaces and luxurious floor to ceiling windows which afford fantastic views over London.

Arslan adds: ’I’m thrilled with my new home. It’s peaceful and I have my own private outdoor space where I can enjoy the breath-taking views, without compromising on vibrant city living.’
