Goldthorpe tree planting scheme gets growing

Community tree planting project underway near our Bella Wood View development in South Yorkshire.
Earlier this year, our Yorkshire team made a donation to The Parish Church of Ss John and Mary Magdalene to help the local community take part in the Queen’s Green Canopy Project.
Committed to the community
Launched in May 2021 ahead of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee year, the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative aims to encourage people from across the country to plant trees and help to enhance the environment.
Our donation of £1,000 helped the Church reach the total of £5,000 needed to cover the costs of preparing the grounds for the new trees, as well as purchasing quality tree stock and the materials needed to plant them.
Creating a more sustainable future
Trees have significant environmental benefits and have been shown to improve health and wellbeing, so we understand just how important this initiative is to the community.
We’re currently building homes nearby in Goldthorpe and it was a real privilege to be invited back to plant some of the trees with them. We were joined by local school children and we’re sure you’ll agree, a fantastic job was done by all.
