The Blyth showhome at Millbank Lock in Partington

House hunters have been flocking to our latest showhomes at our Millbank Lock development in Partington. The two stunning showhomes have been designed by the incredibly talented Killer5 Interior Design Studios and Rebecca Charles (Killer5’s Sales & Marketing Director) is here to talk us through their inspiration.
First up, we’ll be chatting about The Blyth house type, but keep your eyes peeled for more as we’ll soon be walking you through the second showhome, The Bowmont.
The Blyth
”The Blyth is a three-bedroom detached home and we designed it very much with a young family in mind, or a young couple perhaps buying their first home.
"We were keen to create a very modern, contemporary feel and have taken inspiration from the surrounding local area of Partington. It’s a town surrounded by countryside and sits on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal, so we’ve really brought the nature aspect into the interior by incorporating lots of plants throughout the rooms in the house.
A calm place
“In the living room we opted for a monochromatic colour scheme with concentrated green textures throughout. We’ve added black and white fashion photography prints on the walls, which are mounted on slatted wall panels. These sit behind the TV cabinet to create a focal piece in the room.
A living space
“This house type features a large open-plan kitchen and dining room with light enhancing skylight windows and French doors.
“We’ve followed a similar colour scheme as the living area and the decor reflects a family area that has multi-functional use. We’ve added a desk against the wall so the kitchen can double up as an office space during the day. We’ve also added some statement prints to the wall, creating a really modern feel.
A mix of the elements
“The first bedroom is the master bedroom with an en-suite. This room has quite a smart feel to it; we wanted to create a luxury style. The colour palette mirrors the downstairs rooms. We’ve added a unique feature headboard, a black bedside table and metallic finish to the fabrics to create that luxury feel.
For the second bedroom, we’ve opted for more natural tones and have added a feature wallpaper with wood effect, bringing out the natural tones in the furniture.
A shelving unit sits at the side of the bed, which illustrates the ways extra space can be created, and it also brings personality into the room.
A flair for fun
“The third bedroom is a young child’s bedroom and we’ve designed a really fun, animal themed room. To mirror the colour palette, we’ve used two wallpaper prints, one in a darker green, offset against a paler print in the same design.”
