Big steps and big savings for buyer Kenneth
For Kenneth, the hunt for a home in England began over six months ago, starting his search from Hong Kong and continuing when he arrived in the UK.
“I have been renting a property in Warrington since arriving in the UK and I’ve been looking at all the new build options available to me nearby. There were a few reasons I wanted a new build property and energy efficiency was one of them - it’s impossible to compare it with Hong Kong, as I was living in a small flat there, but energy bills are very expensive here in the UK.”
See the world
Owners of new homes save an average of £435 on household bills each year and a new report from the Home Builders Federation - ‘Greener, cleaner, cheaper’ - highlights how new build homes are saving buyers’ money AND cutting carbon emissions.
But, for Kenneth, there were many more benefits to buying a new build home and a Countryside home in particular was where he wanted to start his new life.
Time for change
“I didn’t want to complete any renovation work either and with Countryside, it was almost all perfect to me - the house, the development, the sales consultants. But it was the skylights in the kitchen of the Ashop that sealed it for me.
“The windows make the kitchen feel much brighter and bigger than the other new builds I visited - it’s a real family space and I like that I can feel the sunshine on my skin.
“I’m also really looking forward to having a garden in the summer - they aren’t very common in Hong Kong, so I’ll be enjoying some BBQs and even have plans to build a small green house.
