Did you know our homes are 27% more energy efficient than the national average* and 56% more energy efficient when compared to a Victorian property? It's thanks to A-rated boilers, low energy LED lighting, smart thermostats and installing appliances with high efficiency ratings.

We take steps during the design and build process to ensure that you'll be getting a greener, more energy efficient home in a thriving development that benefits both the environment and your bank account.

With energy costs on the rise there’s no better time to buy a home where energy saving features are included as standard.

According to the Home Builders Federation, on average, owners of a new build property save just over £2,000* on household bills each year, with the average annual running costs for a new build totalling £1,500 compared to an average of £3,570 for older properties. Those that buy a new build house specifically see even greater annual savings of £2,600.

It might not seem like a big deal, but unlike older properties, our homes come with high efficiency double glazing as standard, letting plenty of light and warmth in while minimising heat loss.

Plus additional roof insulation, increased wall thickness are among the other unseen features included with our homes that will help reduce the costs of keeping your home warm in the winter months, while also keeping you cool in the summer.

  • Reducing water usage

Our kitchens and bathrooms incorporate water saving measures, but that doesn't mean you'll be compromising on style or functionality.

These features mean our homes use 20% less water than the UK average, with clear cost savings for our homeowners*. Our taps and showers use aerated technology to provide the feeling of a strong flow, whilst using less water. Plus, our dual low flush toilets use the minimum amount of water to ensure less waste.

Air quality plays a vital role in our health, that's why we install a Positive Input Ventilation system in all our homes.

This clever system takes fresh air from outside and filters out any pollen or impurities, regulates the humidity, and circulates the clean air throughout your home.

Mr Shijo Jose and Mrudula Sivan
Case Study

Mr Jose & Mrs Sivan move to St Lawrence Fold with their two children

Mr Shijo Jose recently moved to Countryside’s St Lawrence Fold development in Derbyshire, with his partner, Mrs Mrudula Sivan, and their two children.

The feeling of finally buying his first home this year was extra special for Mr Jose who, as a registered nurse, has had a particularly challenging few years working through the pandemic.

Since coming to the UK from India 10 years ago, Mr Jose has worked tirelessly in the health profession, with the goal being to get him and his family on the housing ladder. Through Help to Buy, Mr Jose and his family were able to buy their dream detached three-bedroom home at Countryside’s St Lawrence Fold development in Clay Cross.

Mr Jose explained that it was the kitchen that drew him in initially; the spaciousness of it and the light coming in through the skylight are his favourite features. The number of open spaces in and around St Lawrence Fold was also a big positive for Mr Jose, and he expects his young children will make the most of those.

Mr Jose knows the area well and admitted that the location was the biggest selling point. Situated not far from Mansfield and Chesterfield, St Lawrence Fold is in perfect commuting distance to four hospitals, meaning he will have a number of opportunities available to him when considering his career.

He is also making the most of the accessibility of the development. With so many urban cities and towns easily accessed via the nearby M1 or Chesterfield Railway station, he can have the best of both worlds whilst living in the more rural Clay Cross – a town he says is perfect for nipping out to get groceries or something quick to eat.

Mr Jose only had good words to say about the whole buying process, explaining that Countryside was extremely supportive throughout. They used Countryside’s recommended solicitor and the entire process was seamless. Mr Jose wanted to give a big shout out to Ryan – the sales rep from the site – who helped them at every stage.
