Engagement
From the outset of this project, we have proactively engaged with the local community to develop a shared vision for the Beaulieu development that is mindful of the local area and culture. This delivers quality, affordable homes and the appropriate infrastructure to create a sustainable community, making a positive contribution to support the growth of Chelmsford.
Empowerment
Central to the community hub is the Beaulieu Community Centre which provides a range of user-led activities, providing social, leisure, development and community engagement opportunities.
Partnership
The community centre is managed by the Beaulieu Community Trust, made up of representatives from Springfield Parish Council, Beaulieu churches and local residents. The Trust is also responsible for managing the Community fund, which is funded by the joint venture and designed to support local community development.
Stewardship
The Land Trust, the national land management charity, has been appointed to own, manage and maintain the 176 acres of parks and open spaces. The Trust is working in partnership with the local community and resident groups to ensure the land is effectively managed and ensure that all public open spaces, country parks, bridleways, woodlands and gardens benefit from substantial management and financial planning to safeguard them for the future. Fulfilling the original vision for the estate, residents enjoy high quality green spaces that inspire residents and deliver environmental, social and economic value.
